2026 Summer Intern - Learning and Performance Center

NEOGOV is seeking a Summer Intern for the Learning and Performance Center in Chesterfield County. The intern will lead a customer experience assessment project, conducting evaluations and presenting findings to enhance customer service delivery within the county.

Responsibilities

Conduct benchmarking against best practices
Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data
Perform firsthand observations of service delivery and develop actionable recommendations to enhance the customer experience
Engage directly with department directors to plan and execute up to ten in-depth service assessments
Present findings and recommendations to the Deputy County Administrator for Finance & Administration and the Director of the Learning and Performance Center
Perform other work as required

Required

Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.8
Ability to participate in the full 10-week program
Exhibit a commitment to public service
Genuine interest in learning about public administration
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required
Strong organizational skills with an ability to complete tasks with minimum supervision
Self-motivated
Possess interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with others at varying levels of the organization
Professional communications skills
Proficiency with spreadsheets, word documents, and PowerPoint
Current valid driver's license and good driving record required
Record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months
Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview
Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date
