They are in search of a highly motivated Environmental Compliance Coordinator to ensure company compliance with environmental regulations and provide training on compliance topics. The role involves communicating with various stakeholders and supporting compliance tasks at operational sites.

Responsibilities

Ensures company compliance with environmental, chemical, waste management, and permit regulations at various locations in the Eastern Region of Virginia, associated with the client's Electric Distribution operational teams

Share responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of work sites, to comply with regulatory and company Environmental, Health and Safety standards and procedures

Communicate and prepare reports for submittal internally, externally, to governmental agencies and customers

Support the client's employees and other contracted staff, inspect, or assess, and provide recommendations regarding environmental compliance issues to personnel responsible for compliance tasks and management

Provide environmental training to site personnel in handling of chemicals and waste materials, spill prevention, erosion, and sediment control and other environmental compliance topics and requirements

Environmental Field Experience

Erosion & Sediment Control and Stormwater Certifications

Experience related to environmental regulations and applicable environmental requirements for environmental scope and permits

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to work independently and in field environments, as well as in a team setting

Organizational skills and time management skills

Strong leadership and ability to solve problems

Strong technological skill set

4yr degree, Bachelors in an Environmental discipline

Preferred

Experience with an electric utility

Experience with conducting project inspections

Experience working within a team
