Level-1 IT Support Specialist

Responsibilities

Provide first-line technical support in person, by phone, email, or chat; log all interactions in help-desk ticketing system
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral issues (laptops, desktops, printers, headsets, webcams, mobile devices)
Set up, configure, and maintain devices for new and existing employees; perform routine hardware maintenance and inventory checks
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues (Wi-Fi, VPN, wired connections); support remote employees with secure access
Create and manage user accounts in Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and business applications; handle onboarding and offboarding
Reset passwords, unlock accounts, and manage multi-factor authentication enrollment
Train staff on basic computer functions and security best practices; create IT documentation and knowledge base articles
Work with IT colleagues across time zones; maintain asset records and suggest process improvements
Assist with technology rollouts and infrastructure upgrades; participate in on-call rotation as needed

Required

0-2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or technical support roles (internships and coursework count!)
Familiarity with Microsoft Windows (10/11), macOS, and Microsoft 365 applications
Basic understanding of networking concepts (LAN, DHCP, DNS, VPN, Wi-Fi)
Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly language
Patience and empathy when working with users of varying technical skill levels
Proactive problem-solving mindset with ability to research issues and escalate when appropriate
Self-motivated and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities
Team player willing to collaborate across cultures and time zones
Passion for AI and actively using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) to improve workflows

Preferred

Curiosity about scripting, automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash, Zapier, n8n), or experimenting with AI/OpenAI tools
