ADGE Senior Mechanical Engineer (On-Site)
Raytheon is a leading defense contractor, and they are seeking a motivated and driven Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Ground Equipment Design Team. The role involves designing, developing, and documenting components for defense systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and document components, sub-assemblies, and major end items for defense systems in accordance with system requirements
Serve as the technical focal point on small mechanical or cross-functional engineering teams within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment
Provide support for product integration efforts in both domestic and international factory and supplier locations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including other engineering disciplines, operations, supply chain, quality, and external suppliers to resolve technical challenges and develop effective design solutions
Independently manage tasks and deliver on schedule, budget, and technical goals
Participate in design reviews and conduct trade studies to support informed, sound engineering decisions
Apply expertise in mechanical problem-solving and hardware development in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Mentor and support the development of junior engineers
Qualification
Required
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Minimum 6 years of mechanical engineering experience, with at least 3 years in mechanical equipment design and development (preferably in military or rugged environments)
Experience spanning the full product lifecycle—from concept and detailed design to production and support
Broad background in mechanical design, machine shop processes, material and finish selection, manufacturing processes, or related areas
Proficiency with CAD tools and product data management (PDM) systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline (required)
Preferred
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Willingness to travel up to 10%, including internationally
Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with military and commercial specifications
Design and fabrication of machined housing, structures, and components
Fastening, Welding, Brazing, Casting design and processes
Tooling and Fixture design/development
Structural design and/or analysis
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
Change Notice and Waiver generation and review
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
Experience with modern manufacturing systems and reliability/failure analysis
Familiarity with electronic packaging design and development including Subsystems, modules, CCAs, PWBs, and Interconnects (supporting RF, digital, and power systems)
Electromechanical troubleshooting
Eagerness to learn, grow, and take on new technical challenges
Proficient in Creo CAD tools and documentation tools and Windchill PDM
Familiarity with configuration control and change management processes
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
Strong leadership, collaboration, and mentoring skills
Proven ability to manage complexity and deliver innovative, practical solutions on time and within budget
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVMS), Estimate at Complete (EAC), and Risk & Opportunity Management
