NEOGOV is seeking a Summer Intern for the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office in Chesterfield County. The intern will assist prosecutors with legal research, observe court proceedings, and engage in various activities to learn about the criminal justice system.

Assist prosecutors in preparing for Court through legal research
Spend time observing Court
Assist with file processing and preparation
Participate in field trips to partner agencies such as the Department of Forensic Science and Medical Examiner
Perform other work as required

Required

Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student
Minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.8
Ability to participate in the full 10-week program
Exhibit a commitment to public service
Genuine interest in learning about public administration

FBI criminal background check required
Education/degree verification required
Strong research skills
Respect for confidentiality and sensitive information
Good social skills
At least 18 years of age or older
Successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check
