Responsibilities
Providing tax planning advice and support for various of Chevron’s domestic and international upstream, downstream and midstream businesses, with a primary focus on U.S. federal income taxation
Conduct in-depth tax research and analysis, and derive conclusions in support of the company’s tax positions
Interfacing with other functional groups within Corporate Tax (e.g., compliance, audit support, and indirect tax), as well as the broader Finance, Treasury and Legal functions
Advising management and relevant stakeholders of the tax implications of proposed business transactions and activities; and
Taking ownership of, and accountability for, all tax matters (whether in a direct advisory capacity or in a coordinating/facilitating capacity) impacting each of Chevron’s businesses supported by the person fulfilling the position
Qualification
Required
Juris doctorate
Minimum 3 years of U.S. federal income tax research and planning experience
Bar admission
Preferred
LLM or CPA
