Responsibilities
Technical risk selection, pricing, and line deployment
Building and actively managing a profitable portfolio
Understanding CAT exposure and accumulation at both risk and portfolio level
Partnering with brokers, internal teams, and risk engineering to structure smart solutions
Using data, models, and judgment — not just one of the three
Build and manage a profitable Builder’s Risk portfolio
Evaluate complex construction risks using project docs, schedules, geotech reports, CAT models, crime scores, and more
Structure bespoke solutions while protecting margin
Actively manage natural catastrophe exposure and aggregations
Work closely with pricing, technical, and risk engineering teams
Communicate, negotiate, and market with top-tier wholesale brokers
Do the work and help improve how the work gets done
Qualification
Required
Experience in underwriting complex, large commercial Builder's Risk projects (ISO Class 1–6)
Technical risk selection, pricing, and line deployment skills
Ability to build and actively manage a profitable portfolio
Understanding of CAT exposure and accumulation at both risk and portfolio level
Experience partnering with brokers, internal teams, and risk engineering to structure smart solutions
Ability to use data, models, and judgment in underwriting decisions
Strong communication, negotiation, and marketing skills with top-tier wholesale brokers
Ability to evaluate complex construction risks using project docs, schedules, geotech reports, CAT models, crime scores, and more
Experience actively managing natural catastrophe exposure and aggregations
