College Intern - Records & Information Governance
Salt River Project (SRP) is one of the largest public power and water utilities in the U.S. providing electricity to approximately one million customers in the greater metropolitan Phoenix area. The role involves supporting the Records and Information Governance Department through various tasks including records management, compliance systems, and customer support.

Responsibilities
Facilitates proper box management/paper records handling
Assists with the development, maintenance, implementation, dissemination/publication and update of the SRP Records Retention Schedule
Develops, maintains and disseminates departmental operating procedures
Identifies and documents problems in work processes, suggest improvements, and implements approved recommendations
Works with records and information management systems and applications, such as OpenText Content Server (and other enterprise content management solutions), Microsoft365 (Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook), PowerBI
Develops, maintains and provides reports for users and management as necessary
Works with departments to review and process inventories and gain approval for disposition of records
Coordinates transfer of records amongst business areas and to and from off-site storage facility, ensure proper identification, tracking and security
Assists with development of training materials and provides training for end-users and new team members
Provides support, scheduling, tracking, and reporting for electronic disposition of records and information
Provides research, assistance and guidance to internal stakeholders regarding records and information management
Assists with assessing and tracking compliance to internal standards
Maintains knowledge and awareness of current trends, methods and technologies related to records and information management
Supports projects and initiatives in collaboration with the RIG analysts
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 college credits 100 level or higher (exception for Summer Session)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail
Excellent customer service skills
Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to work in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision
Ability to interface with all levels of staff, including senior staff, to accomplish assigned duties
Ability to work with external contacts (vendors, agencies, legal counsel, etc.)
Ability to collaborate with others and willingness to seek input from stakeholders
Ability to work well with ambiguity and under pressure
Handles confidential/sensitive information with discretion
Knowledge and experience with M365 Teams/SharePoint desired
