Heron Data is a Series A stage company based in New York and London, focused on automating document-heavy workflows using AI. The People & Talent Lead will be responsible for recruitment, onboarding, and improving people operations to help build and scale a world-class team.

Responsibilities

Recruiting & hiring for our highest-priority roles. This includes sourcing top talent, refining our hiring process, and helping our interviewers close exceptional candidates
Onboarding new talent to get them up and running quickly and smoothly and ensure everyone at Heron has what they need to succeed
People operations: over time, help us improve processes/ systems that will make Heron an even better place to work, including those related to feedback, performance and development, culture, company-wide communications, retreats/ offsites

Required

Operationally excellent: You're fast, organized, and able to keep multiple priorities moving at once without losing attention to detail
A sharp judge of people: You have great instincts on talent, can assess candidates and teammates effectively, and care deeply about helping a team achieve its goals
Systems-minded: You think in processes and frameworks, not one-offs - but you don't let that get in the way of getting things done!
Trustworthy and detail-oriented: You handle sensitive topics and confidential information with care and sensitivity
A great communicator: Whether it's a hiring message, a team update, or a 1:1 conversation, you know how to communicate with clarity and warmth
Scrappy and creative: when faced with an obstacle, you will either overcome it by pure determination (i.e., by hand), or find an unconventional approach or ‘hack' to navigate it
Persistent: you may not always find the right answer or person immediately, but you're motivated to keep on trying until you do so. You'll go the extra mile - including Flying to Gainesville - if that's what it takes
