Responsibilities
Perform splicing and termination of fiber optic cables in various environments
Test and troubleshoot fiber optic systems to ensure proper functionality and performance
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including splicing diagrams and test results
Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to plan and execute fiber optic installation projects
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while working on-site and handling equipment
Conduct regular maintenance and repair on existing fiber optic networks as needed
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in fiber optic technology
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Strong understanding of optical networks and fiber optic components
Proficient in using fiber optic test equipment, such as OTDR and power meters
Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and diagrams
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
High school diploma or equivalent
Proven experience in fiber optic splicing and installation in a telecommunications environment
Preferred
Technical degree or certification in telecommunications
