Selby Jennings is seeking an Actuarial Consultant to assist in producing actuarial reserving estimates and analyze uncertainties. The role involves maintaining and upgrading actuarial models, developing in-house reserving processes, and supporting various projects related to capital modeling and risk management.

Responsibilities

Assist in producing appropriate actuarial reserving estimates of appropriate levels of IBNR, and analysis in the uncertainty around the central estimate. This includes the interpretation and communication of suitable recommendations from the analysis

Assist in the maintaining and upgrading the existing actuarial and statistical models, and to research, development and implement of new actuarial and statistical models

Development and embedment of in-house reserving process

Maintain data and records

Assist in the production, interpretation and clear communication of the analysis to support ad-hoc projects

Analysis of claims trends to predict the likely outcomes

Support the future development of the Reserving Actuarial function and any associated business development work

Contribute to projects relating to the capital modelling and risk management functions

Review underwriting data and statistics for the purpose of reserving and business planning

Responsibility for producing reserve estimates and maintain reserving platform

Support various other projects within the reserving and actuarial teams (e.g. claims inflation, reinsurance solutions, claims performance metrics and reserving trend analysis)
