Responsibilities
Inspect, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble appliances; test for proper function; replace/adjust mechanical, electrical, or electronic parts (motors, switches, circuit boards)
Install new large appliances like washers, dryers, dishwashers, and ovens
Respond to calls, explain problems, provide cost estimates, offer repair/replacement advice, train customers on usage, collect payments, and maintain professionalism
Maintain records of repairs, parts used, and time; handle refrigerant recovery/recycling per federal law; manage stock/inventory
Adhere to safety regulations, inspect gas lines for leaks, and dispose of hazardous materials
Qualification
Required
Strong electrical/mechanical knowledge
Ability to read schematics/manuals
Proficiency with tools
Understanding of refrigeration cycles
Basic tech skills (EPA Section 608 Certification)
Excellent communication (explaining complex issues simply)
