EOP Research Scholar

Stanford University is dedicated to solving education's greatest challenges, and the Educational Opportunity Project (EOP) is seeking a Research Scholar to support the development and analysis of a novel database of kindergarten readiness assessment data. The Research Scholar will work closely with the EOP team to clean, organize, and analyze data, as well as draft research papers for publication.

Responsibilities

Extract and clean data from a variety of sources, including state departments of education and the federal government, and maintain its accuracy and completeness
Build replicable and efficient software code for data cleaning and estimation
Create documentation for all code and analyses
Perform complex statistical analyses and develop graphs and tables for publication and presentation
Conceptualize and draft research papers
Collaborate with other EOP researchers and collaborators

Required

PhD in Education, Sociology, Statistics, or a related field
Experience and interest in conducting research on educational opportunity and equity
High-level statistical and quantitative data analysis skills spanning educational measurement, statistical analysis, and research design
Content expertise in education policy, sociology of education, economics of education, and/or related fields
Experience working independently with large datasets
Demonstrated collaboration, communication, and writing skills
