Field Engineer

IDEMIA is seeking an experienced Field Systems & Integration Engineer to act as their technical ambassador in North America. This remote role involves diagnosing, integrating, and supporting complex roadside enforcement systems while collaborating with engineering teams in France.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical liaison for US/Canada customers, translating operational needs into engineering actions
Perform system-level diagnostics (hardware, embedded firmware, Linux-based processing units, IP networking, sensors, cameras)
Conduct field integration, configuration, and validation of roadside radar and imaging systems in rugged outdoor environments
Collaborate closely with IDEMIA’s R&D teams in France for advanced troubleshooting, technical investigations, and solution design
Provide technical training to operators, field teams, and partner engineers
Prepare engineering-level documentation including investigation notes, analysis reports, and performance assessments
Support customer acceptance testing, calibration validation, and long-term system reliability initiatives
Manage local spare parts, logistics, and vendor relationships at an operational/engineering level

Required

The successful candidate will be a US citizen, fluent in English, with French language skills considered an advantage
You will be based on the US East Coast, with flexibility to travel across North America
Proven experience is required in field service, maintenance, or deployment of electronic or electromechanical systems, ideally with experience in software development or technical project management
A strong foundation in C++ and Python is essential, alongside solid knowledge of electronics, IP networking, and embedded systems
Experience in embedded systems, video or image processing, or hardware/software integration is a plus, as is proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively with international teams
A valid driver's license and eligibility to work in the United States are required

Preferred

Experience in traffic enforcement, smart mobility, industrial automation, public safety, ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems), or sensor-based solutions
Background in system commissioning, field validation, or integration engineering
Experience supporting distributed systems, sensors, or embedded imaging technology
You should be confident producing technical documentation, delivering training, and managing operational logistics in field deployment environments
Previous experience collaborating with international teams or providing remote technical support will be highly valued
