Staff Electrical Engineer – Robotics Power & Communications
Akkar is partnering with a fast-growing robotics innovator building advanced humanoid systems for real-world environments. They are seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead the design of power and communication systems across the platform, impacting reliability, safety, and scalability of robotic systems.
Responsibilities
Architect the electrical backbone of a humanoid robot by defining power distribution, battery strategy, grounding, and communications architecture
See your designs come to life in real hardware by owning systems from concept through prototyping, validation, and production release
Deliver high-performance motion and sensing networks using low-latency communications (EtherCAT, CAN, Ethernet, TSN)
Build robust, safety-compliant designs that meet EMI/EMC and regulatory standards (UL, CE, FCC)
Drive efficiency and reliability through power analysis, thermal optimization, and rigorous testing
Design advanced mixed-signal PCBAs for high-power, high-speed applications
Grow your technical influence by mentoring engineers and shaping hardware best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
7–10+ years of experience in electrical or hardware engineering
Experience with power electronics, power distribution, or robotics systems
Exposure to industrial or high-speed communication protocols
Experience designing complex PCBAs and supporting validation and production
