Responsibilities

Utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation & evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to designated area

Collaborating with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care

Documenting patient history, symptoms, medications and care provided in compliance with applicable standards/regulations

Utilizing technology to enhance quality patient care

Collaborating with physicians and inter-professional team members, effectively delegating to and supervising unlicensed personnel

Assuming overall nursing accountability for a patient assignment and serving in leadership roles on department/organizational task forces and committees

Demonstrating competency and practicing within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge

Utilizing appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in the specific care area or unit

Having effective communication skills to collaborate, negotiate and resolve conflicts, situations, and/or issues with peers, inter-professional colleagues, patients and families

Having strong clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills to analyze data and appropriately respond to changing situations

Qualification

Registered Nurse licensureBachelor's degree in nursingClinical reasoningCritical thinkingEffective communicationTime managementTeam collaboration

Required

Requires current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state, or states, of practice

Nurses performing nursing practice over the telephone require licensure in the states where the patients being served reside

Certification may be required depending on specialty or service area

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred
