The role involves reviewing safety items, conducting investigations, and liaising with various teams to ensure safety standards are met.

Responsibilities
Responsible for identifying and reporting safety, compliance and regulatory concerns on Hyundai and Genesis models
Responsible for reviewing and creating escalation material for committee review
Works closely with Engineers from Safety Emerging Issues and Vehicle Safety Investigation teams as needed to assist in emerging issue detection and analysis
Review all assigned potential safety items (SODAS Alerts) within the analytics application and provide disposition
Qualification
Required
Identify potential safety related defects and/or FMVSS non-compliances associated with Hyundai and Genesis production vehicles through examination of consumer complaint data
Conduct timely, data driven investigations of possible issues that have been identified
Determine a preliminary severity, occurrence, and detectability scores using established metrics and standard operating procedures
Actively track and manage assigned cases / alerts to ensure KPI's are within requirements (including handling time, response time and reporting deadlines)
Summarize for management review that clearly defines the issue, and the parameters outlined above
Provide immediate notification to upper management of potential high priority issues
This position will have access to Hyundai / Genesis expertise needed to complete investigations with review by Managers and Senior Managers
Liaise with Hyundai / Genesis design, manufacturing, and supplier affiliates as needed
This is a support position, focused on delivering day-to-day tasks and analyses with a degree of autonomy while receiving general instructions and supervision
Preferred
Basic automotive experience/knowledge preferred
Experience using basic data processing tools (example: Excel, Alteryx...) preferred
Completed or close to being completed - BS / BA degree in Engineering preferred
