Turlock Irrigation District operates and maintains hydroelectric projects and is seeking a Student Intern for Dam Safety/Power Plant Engineering. The intern will manage or contribute to assigned projects, communicate with internal customers, and present project findings to upper management by the end of the internship.

Responsibilities

Define problems, research alternatives, and collect/analyze data to determine best processes and methods for a solution
Lead/oversee assigned project(s) of various scope and complexity
Create, input, format, maintain and update a variety of projects, reports and spreadsheets
Regularly and clearly communicate with manager and internal customers on the status of projects
Display professionalism at all times
Present project information at the end of the internship to communicate research, findings and analysis

Required

Active college student or recent graduate in a relevant engineering field with a GPA of 3.0 or better
Prefer college level Civil or Geotechnical Engineering student, Junior or Senior grade level
Full time student or recent graduate in good standing actively pursuing or having earned a degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Geotechnical, or related engineering field
Ability to work a minimum of 320 hours during the 2026 Summer/Fall
Ability to demonstrate professional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent computer skills especially in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Ability to manage multiple tasks
Pass pre-employment drug screening, physical, and criminal background check (as needed/required)
