ENGINEER (STRUCTURAL) V - DEPT OF TRANSPORTATION - HIGHWAYS DIVISION - KAPOLEI, OAHU (WIKIWIKI)
The State of Hawaiʻi is seeking an Engineer (Structural) V to lead the Field Consultant Unit of the Bridge Design Section within the Department of Transportation. This role involves overseeing the design and construction of various structures, including bridges and tunnels, while ensuring compliance with engineering standards and practices.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Conducting preliminary location, type and cost studies
Preparing, supervising and approving design computations, plan specifications and estimates for bridges, separation structures, retaining walls, pedestrian facilities, tunnels, culverts, small buildings and other structures
Developing, preparing, reviewing and approving construction and maintenance plans, specifications, proposals, estimate details and computations for both State designed and consultant designed projects
Performing other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Applicants must possess a valid State of Hawaii Professional Engineer license AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION
A bachelor's degree from a school of engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
Four (4) years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience
At least one (1) year of Engineering Experience must have been comparable to the next lower level
Applicants must possess Supervisory Experience/Aptitude and/or Staff Advisory Experience as described in the complete Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment
