Responsibilities

Elicit, analyze, and document payment-related requirements involving payment gateways, transaction processors, refund workflows, reconciliation, and ledger controls
Understand and articulate end-to-end payment flows — from authorization through settlement and reporting — to ensure completeness and compliance
Collaborate with developers and QA to validate calculations, accounting impacts, and integration accuracy across systems
Partner closely with the Product Manager and Product Owner to refine epics and user stories that align with payment platform strategy
Participate in sprint ceremonies, backlog grooming, and release planning to ensure payment features are accurately represented and prioritized
Maintain and evolve documentation of payment use cases, workflows, and acceptance criteria
Develop and maintain business requirements documents (BRDs), user stories, process maps, and data flow diagrams for payment-related functionality
Translate technical details into business language for stakeholders and business requirements into clear specifications for engineers
Validate system behavior aligns with compliance standards such as PCI DSS and agency reporting requirements
Collaborate with QA to define test cases, verify acceptance criteria, and confirm payment functionality accuracy before release
Monitor product enhancements and evolving fintech capabilities to recommend improvements to transaction efficiency, reconciliation automation, and reporting transparency
Document and share lessons learned to refine BA practices within the Payments Scrum Team

Required

Must be US Citizen or Green Card holder
3–6 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role in financial software, payment processing, or transaction-based platforms
Background in B2C commercial software environments with experience in the tracking, consolidation, as well as internal reporting of the accounting and financials
Strong understanding of payment life cycles (authorization, capture, refund, chargeback, reconciliation)
Experience documenting business requirements, writing detailed user stories, and managing acceptance criteria within Agile/Scrum frameworks
Familiarity with payment gateways, merchant account management, and financial reporting or general ledger systems
Experience supporting integrations with external vendors, APIs and payment gateways
Demonstrated analytical skills, including gap analysis, root cause analysis, and process mapping
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical perspectives
Strong attention to detail, accountability, and organizational skills in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment
