Responsibilities
Advise leading financial institutions and credit funds on distressed debt and claims trading transactions
Structure and negotiate purchase and sale agreements involving bankruptcy claims and par loans
Support trading desks in primary and secondary loan market transactions
Handle cross-border distressed asset transfers and regulatory-sensitive trades
Work closely with restructuring teams on creditor rights issues tied to Chapter 11 matters
Analyze documentation related to private debt securities and syndicated loans
Coordinate multi-party closings under tight timelines
Conduct legal due diligence on distressed portfolios
Assist clients in navigating claim transfer procedures in bankruptcy proceedings
Collaborate with partners on novel finance structures impacting creditor recoveries
Qualification
Required
1–3 years of law firm experience in finance, banking, or restructuring
Strong academic credentials required
Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple fast-moving matters simultaneously
Experience drafting transactional finance documents
Preferred
Exposure to corporate loan markets strongly preferred
New York Bar admission preferred
Familiarity with bankruptcy and creditor rights concepts advantageous
