Responsibilities
Act as the official face of Grupo Oesía before the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), federal agencies, and major Tier-1 defense contractors
Identify and capture new business opportunities within the U.S. defense market, specifically for avionics, mission systems, and communication technologies
Ensure all activities comply with U.S. trade regulations, including ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations)
Develop and maintain strategic alliances with local partners for joint ventures, industrial participation, and technology transfer programs
Provide real-time analysis of U.S. defense budgets, procurement trends (NDAA), and competitor movements to the executive board in Spain
Lead the administrative and operational setup of the representative office, ensuring legal and fiscal compliance in the state of Virginia
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, International Relations, or Business Administration (Master's or MBA preferred)
10+ years of experience in the Defense & Aerospace sector, with at least 5 years in leadership or business development roles within the U.S. market
Deep understanding of the FMS (Foreign Military Sales) and DCS (Direct Commercial Sales) processes
Bilingual Proficiency: Native or near-native English; professional fluency in Spanish is essential for reporting to HQ
Security Clearance: Ability to obtain or currently holding a U.S. Security Clearance is highly valued
Networking: An existing network of contacts within the Pentagon, Virginia's defense corridor, or major industry associations (e.g., NDIA, AUSA)
Cultural Intelligence: Ability to bridge the gap between European corporate culture and U.S. defense industry standards
Spanish nationality or legal residence in Japan with work permit
