The Naval Postgraduate School is seeking applications for a non-tenure track faculty position as the Chair for Undersea Warfare (USW). The successful applicant will facilitate communication between various stakeholders and promote interdisciplinary research and education in the field of USW.

Responsibilities

Facilitate external communication between the school Director, Undersea Warfare Division (OPNAV N97), Naval USW activities, and industry
Internal communication between the multiple scholastic disciplines who have a part in the USW problem
Engage in graduate teaching as per requisite background and expertise
Link instructors and researchers together to promote and guide a focused, interdisciplinary instructional and research program in USW at NPS
Be the primary focal point for relevant research and solutions to the Sponsor N97, and other USW related commands
Assist in linking USW education and research at NPS to Naval current, and anticipated future, requirements

Required

Advanced degree in an engineering discipline is preferred
Demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of the USW mission
Facilitate external communication between the school Director, Undersea Warfare Division (OPNAV N97), Naval USW activities, and industry
Facilitate internal communication between the multiple scholastic disciplines who have a part in the USW problem
Engage in graduate teaching may also be available with the requisite background and expertise
