Quantitative Trader (PhD Required)
Quantitative Strategies Group (QSG) is a proprietary trading firm seeking PhD level candidates for trading roles. Traders will manage their own accounts and build long-term trading businesses, contributing to research and strategy development while operating independently within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
Traders manage their own account within the firm and work in person to maintain tight feedback loops around risk, capital allocation, infrastructure, and live trading decisions
Traders operate independently while benefiting from shared firm infrastructure including capital, technology, market access, risk management, and ongoing internal education
From day one, traders contribute directly to research, strategy development, and implementation
Initial risk limits are modest and scale over time based on demonstrated performance, discipline, and adherence to risk constraints
Qualification
Required
PhD in a quantitative field (Math, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Machine Learning, Economics, or similar)
Strong quantitative, technical, or research-oriented academic background with evidence of deep work
Explored markets independently through research, coding, backtesting, or strategy development
Comfortable owning models end to end from hypothesis formation through evaluation and failure analysis
Meaningful experience with programming, data analysis, and empirical methods (Python preferred)
Value continuous learning and self-directed improvement
Not seeking a classroom-style training program or salaried role
Want to build a long-term career in proprietary trading
Preferred
Prior live trading experience is not required, but candidates must demonstrate serious quantitative work and the ability to execute ideas independently
