Purchasing & Scheduling Manager-MPS
Morrow Renewables LLC is seeking a Purchasing & Scheduling Manager-MPS to ensure seamless and cost-effective operations by strategically sourcing goods and services while planning and maintaining efficient schedules. Responsibilities
Responsible for the procurement system and procedures for Morrow Process Solutions. The following is a breakdown of the current procurement system. The Purchasing & Scheduling Manager shall evaluate and recommend changes to improve the system. Changes and improvements may be implemented with approval from the Director
Purchasing & Scheduling Manager is directly responsible for requesting quotes and generating purchase orders for job-specific items below:
Pipe & Fittings
Valves
Code vessels
Structural skids
Instrumentation (Can be coordinated by engineering department)
Equipment (Can be coordinated by engineering department)
Other job specific items as required and requested
Purchasing & Scheduling Manager is responsible for overseeing and providing purchasing procedures for purchases performed by other MPS departments to effectively report and evaluate MPS’s procurement system. MPS departments include:
Engineering Department
Warehouse Department
QAQC Department
Manufacturing Department
Maintain relationships with vendors or suppliers and actively participate in finding new competitive vendors
Negotiate vendor contracts and monitor supplier performance
Forecast demand and material price trends to aid in decision-making to minimize purchasing costs
Coordinate with Warehouse Department any specific storage or special instructions for Warehouse Department to properly receive and store ordered components
Coordinate closely with QAQC to ensure all procured materials and fabricated components meet project-specific quality standards and industry codes. Provide any required vendor documentation to QAQC as required and implement QAQC initiatives within the procurement process as required
Coordinate with the Manufacturing Department to ensure materials and outsourced fabrication availability is meeting operational timelines based on the schedule
Responsible for generating job costing reports for materials, services, and consumables per each job and/or workorder
For outsourced orders requiring QAQC inspections, coordinate with vendors and QAQC Department to arrange inspections and communicate with appropriate individuals to answer any issues or questions that may arise
Develop, maintain, and manage the Microsoft Projects production schedule for all MPS projects to ensure timely production and service delivery
Coordinate closely with project managers, department managers, fabrication supervisors, and vendors to align material availability with schedule and ensure that Microsoft Projects production schedule is accurate to the actual shop schedule
Track actual project schedule against Microsoft Projects schedule and report status to internal key stakeholders
Adjust schedules proactively in response to material delays, labor availability or design changes
Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts to minimize downtime and ensure efficient resource allocation
Identify and implement approved improvements to the scheduling process
Establish routine scheduling meetings with QAQC, Manufacturing, and Warehouse to address potential issues before they affect the schedule
Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all departments and establish a process for tracking, updating, and reporting KPIs to department supervisors/managers
Evaluate and collaborate on supply chain procedures, including inventory management, warehousing, vendor management, and overflow vendor fabrication facilities
Evaluate current processes and identify improvements that maximize efficiency and reduce waste
Aid with document control for the manufacturing shop
Create the current layout of our shop in Mineola, TX and aid with the design/configuration of the future layout as the shop grows
Follow and enforce safety policies
Assist with Engineering, Plant/Field Operations, and development as needed
As MPS grows and this department grows, the Purchasing & Scheduling Manager will be responsible for hiring and managing employees within the department
Follow and encourage safe work practices

Qualification
Required
Experience in procurement and scheduling management
Ability to evaluate and recommend changes to procurement systems
Experience in requesting quotes and generating purchase orders
Knowledge of materials such as Pipe & Fittings, Valves, Code vessels, Structural skids, Instrumentation, and Equipment
Ability to maintain relationships with vendors or suppliers
Experience in negotiating vendor contracts and monitoring supplier performance
Ability to forecast demand and material price trends
Experience in coordinating with Warehouse Department for storage and special instructions
Ability to coordinate with QAQC to ensure quality standards are met
Experience in generating job costing reports
Ability to coordinate QAQC inspections for outsourced orders
Experience in developing and managing production schedules using Microsoft Projects
Ability to track project schedules and report status to stakeholders
Experience in adjusting schedules in response to delays or changes
Ability to identify and resolve scheduling conflicts
Experience in establishing routine scheduling meetings
Ability to establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for departments
Experience in evaluating supply chain procedures
