Senior Structural Bridge Engineer

Responsibilities
Spearhead the development of comprehensive proposals for clients, encompassing delivery of studies and design services, while formulating precise engineering budgets and schedules to meet stringent requirements
Demonstrate exemplary leadership by working autonomously with minimal supervision and providing mentorship to junior engineers within the bridge group
Conduct advanced technical analyses, including the development of innovative methodologies and techniques to address complex or unique engineering challenges
Assume a primary technical design role, ensuring strict adherence to current design standards and industry best practices
Execute rigorous quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and precision
Collaborate effectively with technical staff, overseeing their design and review processes to guarantee all deliverables meet AECOM's exacting Quality Standards
Develop detailed and accurate construction cost estimates and technical effort projections for projects of varying scales and complexities
Produce meticulously prepared reports and documentation for clients, review agencies, and the public, ensuring clarity and thoroughness in all communications
Undertake significant project management responsibilities, including stringent financial oversight, unwavering quality control, and precise schedule management for all assigned projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering + eight years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience or education
Licensed Professional Engineer in New York &/or New Jersey
Preferred
Ideally over 10 Years in transportation structures design and construction with recent structural design experience
Master's Degree in appropriate engineering discipline is preferred
Ideal candidate will have recent experience in delivering projects for New Jersey Transportation clients
Familiarity with local Bridge Design Guidelines, Specifications and Technical Standards
Experience in successfully managing structural projects
Demonstrated track record of delivering a range of technical projects from new build to rehabilitation
A working knowledge of Finite Element analysis and modelling
Familiarity with seismic design, structural codes, building codes, bridge design guidelines, specifications and technical standards
Experience in participating in multi-disciplinary engineering projects, with ability to manage and coordinate supporting design inputs: drainage, roadway, lighting, aesthetics, etc
Strong interpersonal, negotiating, problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong verbal and written communications skills
