Responsibilities
Design robust mainframe architectures specifically tailored for complex logistics and transportation workflows
Lead the development and modification of CICS programs to handle high-concurrency online transaction processing (OLTP)
Design and develop critical business logic using COBOL, ensuring high performance in core logistics applications
Utilize DB2 to architect efficient data access layers, ensuring data integrity and optimal query performance for massive datasets
Develop and maintain sophisticated JCL (Job Control Language) to automate batch processing and streamline operational efficiency
Leverage IBM Mainframe Utilities to manage system resources and maintain high availability across the environment
Analyze legacy logistics systems to identify opportunities for code optimization and architectural modernization
Provide high-level architectural guidance and lead development teams through complex production releases and upgrades
Monitor system health, troubleshoot high-priority production issues, and implement preventive measures to minimize business disruption
Qualification
Required
Expert-level development for enterprise-scale applications using COBOL
Mastery of batch job automation and system management using JCL
Advanced knowledge of database design, SQL tuning, and data integrity using DB2
Hands-on experience with online transaction environments and system integrations using CICS
Proficiency in standard IBM utilities for data and resource management
Preferred
Background in transit systems, freight management, or logistics tracking
Experience architecting the transition or integration of legacy systems with modern platforms
