Buc-ee's, Ltd. is seeking a Summer Associate to provide services to the legal counsel and other staff members in the Legal Department. The role involves preparing legal pleadings and contracts, assisting in litigation, and conducting legal research among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Prepare initial drafts of legal pleadings at the direction of the attorneys
Prepare initial drafts of contracts at the direction of attorneys
Negotiate contracts
Assist attorneys in the coordination of discovery in litigation
Research legal matters
Prepare memoranda of legal issues
Draft and/or revise policy and procedure documents at the direction of attorneys
Gather and obtain evidence, as necessary, in support of disputes, lawsuits, trademark filings, and regulatory matters
Assist attorneys with collecting background information on property damage, potential new vendors, and for other miscellaneous purposes
Maintain confidentiality
It is an essential function of this job for the employee to work in office/in the employee’s assigned work site. No remote work is available
Perform other duties as required and/or assigned
Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

Required

Bachelor's Degree, plus at least one year of law school courses
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
