Responsibilities
Lead the design, simulation, and validation of photonic IC building blocks including modulators, filters, and photodetectors
Oversee development of mathematical and behavioral models of photonic components for co-simulation with electronic circuits
Drive integration, bring-up, and testing of combined photonic and electronic ICs
Mentor junior engineers, review designs, and ensure high-quality technical execution
Coordinate cross-functional teams to optimize system-level performance and device designs
Contribute to process improvements, design methodologies, and team best practices
Use scripting and programming tools (e.g., Python or MATLAB) to enable design automation and analysis workflows
Qualification
Required
Proven track record in photonic device or PIC design, with experience leading projects or small teams
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field, or MS with 5+ years of relevant industry experience
Strong understanding of optical transceiver architectures and system-level requirements
Experience with photonic device design, layout, and simulation methodologies
Proficiency with Cadence design environments and mixed-signal simulation
Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects, mentor engineers, and manage priorities
Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
