Field Service Engineer – Water Treatment Systems
Trident Consulting is a U.S.-based IT staffing and consulting firm seeking a Field Service Engineer – Water Treatment Systems for one of their clients, a global leader in business and technology services. The role involves installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and qualification of water purification systems at various customer sites, requiring strong technical skills and customer interaction.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, repair, validate, and qualify water purification systems
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance within the assigned month
Complete system installations within two weeks of site readiness
Respond to service requests ranging from urgent (24-hour onsite) to planned service windows
Support custom-engineered system installations in collaboration with internal teams
Accurately complete and close Work Orders on a daily basis
Provide customers with all required service documentation (Service Reports, Maintenance Reports, Meter Verifications, Qualifications, etc.)
Maintain compliance with GMP environments, customer site rules, safety standards, and housekeeping requirements
Maintain accurate daily schedules with internal visibility
Proactively communicate service timing and expectations with customers
Escalate scheduling risks or service-impact issues to management
Handle emergency service requests (2-hour callback, up to 24-hour onsite response)
Manage consignment inventory in accordance with SOPs and value limits
Ensure tools and test equipment are calibrated and in proper working condition
Comply with NA Fleet Vehicle Policy
Identify and generate leads for hardware, consumables, accessories, and service contracts using CRM tools
Submit expense reports bi-weekly
Qualification
Required
Hands-on Water Treatment / Water Purification Systems experience (MANDATORY)
Minimum 1+ year of field service experience in equipment servicing or technical support
Strong troubleshooting and repair experience in mechanical / electro-mechanical systems
Proven experience working in customer-facing field service roles
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Installation, maintenance, and qualification of water purification systems
Use of hand tools and basic power tools (drills, torque tools, etc.)
Experience with test equipment (meters, qualification/test boxes)
Ability to perform system validations and meter verifications
Basic IT skills: system communication, software uploads, iPad/iPhone usage
Associate's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical/military training) OR High School Diploma / GED with 3+ years of field service or skilled trade experience
Willingness to travel 10–60% (including overnight)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently
Strong communication and customer service skills
