Director of Corporate Operations – Remote (US)

Responsibilities
Ensure new hires are fully provisioned on Day 1 and achieve an employee satisfaction score (NPS) of >9/10, treating our team as partners, not resources
Liberate leadership by reducing COO/CEO time spent on administrative tasks by 50% and ensuring 100% of Board meetings have pre-read materials distributed 24 hours in advance
Achieve 100% audit readiness on all state/federal filings and SOC2 internal controls, effectively protecting the business
Act as the primary liaison for outside legal counsel and manage all business insurance policies, negotiating renewals to ensure coverage scales with our risks
Administer the full employee lifecycle—from offer letters to offboarding—and partner with the COO to maintain an Employee Handbook that reflects our values of 'Honesty and Transparency'
Serve as the right hand to the COO for day-to-day problem solving, special projects, triaging executive calendars to prioritize high-value meetings and coordinating company offsites
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in Operations, Office Management, or People/HR roles, specifically within a high-growth startup or technology company environment
Demonstrated mastery of modern HRIS platforms (specifically Rippling or Gusto) and document/knowledge management tools (Notion, DocuSign)
Proven ability to manage business insurance policies, negotiate renewals, and act as the primary liaison for outside legal counsel
Unimpeachable integrity with experience handling highly sensitive compensation data and legal strategy with absolute confidentiality
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects—such as company offsites and Board meeting preparation—without oversight
Preferred
Direct experience managing or preparing for a SOC2 audit process or handling 'Due Diligence' requests
Prior experience in the Insurance or Insurtech sectors (understanding of MGAs, Carriers, or Agency operations)
Practical experience utilizing AI tools to augment personal productivity or automate routine administrative workflows under human supervision
Familiarity with operational budgeting or assisting with financial reporting/filings
