Responsibilities
Assist with tree pruning, removal, and planting operations
Safely chipping and removing brush, hauling woody debris
Watering trees and removal of banding and metal stakes
Mowing and trimming in various parks, trails, and green spaces
Transport and load/unload equipment at various locations
Assist with the daily and weekly maintenance of equipment
Assist with maintenance of grounds, trees, flower beds and turf including weeding, mulching and watering
Follow City and Department safety, personnel and administrative policies, procedures and ordinances
Perform other related job duties as assigned
Special events set-up and take down
Maintain ball diamonds and other athletic facilities
Cleaning and maintaining shelters and park restrooms
Provides assistance with facility repair and construction projects
Qualification
Required
Must be 18 years old or older
Valid Driver's License
Must be able to safely operate a pick-up truck, gator, small tractor, commercial size lawnmowers, one ton dump truck, and trimming devices
Operator must be able to lift small and large branches/logs into a chipper or truck
Must be able to communicate with the public
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to lift 50 pounds on a frequent basis
Ability to work outdoors in changing environmental conditions
Overtime and changes in scheduled shifts will be required
