Responsibilities

Support development of the vacation packages pricing strategy, implement package pricing capabilities, and configure and maintain the Vacations Booking Engine (VBE) including rate and inventory for non-air package components
Build and own the requirements document and schematics for the design of the pricing core that processes competitive price shops and business rules to calculate suggested price markups
Execute benchmarking as needed to understand Southwest Vacations package pricing versus competitors and lead the ongoing sourcing and management of competitive price shops with third-party vendors
Partner with Airline Revenue Management and Pricing Team to understand market dynamics and air booking trends and take part in BAU planning sessions
Develop and leverage analytical tools to support pricing rules and decision-making, including promotions and discounts
Collaborate with Marketing Team to manage promotions at both market and individual partner levels
Collaborate with the Product and Go-To-Market teams regarding hotel sort order and merchandising decisions
Manage pricing strategy for assignment markets
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders

Required

High School Diploma or GED
U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. required and no current or future work authorization sponsorship available
Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Ability to travel up to 20%
Knowledge of pricing or revenue management for air or vacation package products
Skilled in leading mid-to-large scale cross-functional projects
Skilled in problem-solving and storytelling
Skilled in analytical and quantitative analysis with experience building quantitative models
Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally, including development and delivery of presentations to various audiences
Ability to properly manage highly sensitive and confidential information
Ability to contend with a range and complexity of large business problems
Ability to align multiple parties, with conflicting/diverse viewpoints, on the direction for specific initiatives
Expert level experience, expansive and far-reaching knowledge in pricing of air or bundled products or services
Expert level experience, expansive and far-reaching knowledge in developing analytical models for informing pricing decisions
Expert level experience, expansive and far-reaching knowledge in leading cross-functional projects

Preferred

Knowledge/Experience with Revenue Management
Knowledge/Experience with SQL
Knowledge/Experience with Excel
Knowledge of a Revenue Management System is preferred but not required
Knowledge of data tools such as Python or SQL is preferred but not required
