Sr Reimbursement Analyst

The Sr Reimbursement Analyst oversees the recording and analysis of net patient service revenue and patient accounts receivable, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

Prepares monthly net revenue and A/R reserve calculations
Contractual allowance calculation
Bad debt allowance calculation
Allocation of contractual adjustments
Post activity to General ledger and reconcile to revenue system
Generates monthly revenue and A/R reporting package
A/R valuation
Net revenue by type & by payor
A/R aging
Trending of allowance percentages and payor mix
Reporting for all material revenue variances
Prepare recommendations of financial plans, trends, and operating forecasts
Prepares necessary financial audit workpapers
Acts as the primary point of contact for external auditors during interim and year end fieldwork preparing all necessary schedules/supporting documentation and responding to inquiries
Assists with the calculation of the budget for net patient service revenue
Works with Decision Support and Revenue Cycle teams to prepare the annual budget and long range forecast for net patient service revenue
Medicare cost report preparation
In Coordination with third party cost report preparer, handles all cost report preparation, filing, audits, and appeals including preparation of supporting documentation
Prepares accounting entries and exhibits to accurately record the cost report impact
Updates monthly revenue calculations based on the latest annual cost report
Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested

Qualification

Accounting degreeHealthcare experienceMedicare reimbursement knowledgeMS Excel skillsMedical coding knowledgeCost report preparationCertified Public AccountantCertified Management Accountant

Required

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
Five (5) years of post-degree experience in accounting
Two (2) of the five (5) years of experience must be in a complex hospital or healthcare setting
General understanding of DRG and CPT/HCPC Medical Coding and Medical Terminology
Strong knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement methodologies and cost report preparation
Strong MS Excel Skills

Preferred

Masters degree in Accounting or Finance
Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant
