Responsibilities

Working under the direction of senior traffic engineers, on a variety of traffic design projects
Preparing signing, pavement marking, signal lighting, temporary traffic control, and intelligent transportation system (ITS) plans for either stand-alone or multidisciplinary projects
Conducting field work to collect data such as traffic counts, inventories, or field measurements

Qualification

EIT certificationTraffic planning experiencePennDOT standards knowledgeMicrosoft Office proficiencyVerbal skillsMulti-tasking abilityCommitment to cultureWritten skills

Required

Bachelor's degree
Strong verbal and written skills
Ability to multitask while working on many projects at once
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
EIT, or ability to obtain within 6 months, required. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title 'Traffic Designer' and will be expected to obtain for career progression

Preferred

Master's degree preferred
Working knowledge of PennDOT and PTC standards, specifications, and plan preparation
Computer skills using Microsoft office, ProjectWise, HSC, and Synchro
Ability to prioritize and multi-task while working on several projects at once
Experience related to traffic planning and design
Preference given to local candidates
