Responsibilities

Developing data infrastructure to support application development
Identifying relevant data
Designing data structures
Sourcing data (including all aspects of ETL: extract, transform, load)
Creating data summarizations such as reports, dashboards, and metrics
Performing advanced data analysis to identify trends and forecast future events. This may include techniques such as machine learning
Advancing our team’s data utilization capability to enhance business value delivered
Work closely with functional and business team members, project management, enterprise architects, system engineers and application developers to design and develop mission-critical applications based on approved architecture and business requirements
Design and implement innovative solutions to resolve complex Information Technology (IT) and business problems
Lead technical projects through effective communication with peers, customers and management
Ensure solutions are well-engineered, optimized, operable, and maintainable
Ensure adherence to defined project management policies, changes management guidelines, cyber security requirements and software quality assurance processes
Interface with IT Project Management to deliver solutions on schedule, with high quality, and within budget

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline
OR Master's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline
OR Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 8 years of completed education and/or relevant experience
Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status
The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP)
If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709
Medical requirements may apply
U.S. citizenship is a requirement for security clearance applicants

Preferred

Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Analytics, or similar degree with at least 5 years of relevant progressive experience
Demonstrated experience using tools such as Excel, Tableau and programming languages (such as SQL, Python and R) to perform analytics
Knowledge of databases, data warehouses, business intelligence systems and data analysis tools
Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence systems
Knowledge required to perform data analytics that includes statistics, decision sciences, machine learning, reporting technologies and/or predictive analysis
Experience delivering effective communications, both written and oral
