Responsibilities

You will help lead the design, development, and optimization of our core applications
You will work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to design scalable systems, improve developer productivity, and mentor teammates
Design and develop scalable, maintainable services across our Rails and React applications, ensuring performance, security, and reliability
Architect APIs and integrations
Collaborate closely with other engineers on AWS-hosted infrastructure, including services deployed on EKS (Kubernetes) and on-prem systems for internal automation and printing
Own technical delivery for major initiatives from database schema design to frontend UX integration and CI/CD deployment
Implement observability (metrics, tracing, structured logging) to ensure production systems are monitored, resilient, and compliant
Lead design and code reviews, mentor other engineers, and help establish technical standards and best practices across the stack

Required

Strong foundation in Computer Science
Experience in Back-End Web Development, Software Development, and Programming
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
7+ years of professional software development experience, with substantial time spent in Ruby on Rails and React ecosystems
Proven ability to design and scale production systems on AWS; ideally leveraging services like EKS, S3, RDS/MySQL, and Grafana/Prometheus
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Argo CD, or similar)
Strong foundation in object-oriented programming, RESTful API design, and frontend state management
Comfortable collaborating with infrastructure teams on deployment, monitoring, and configuration management
Excellent communication and documentation skills, with a track record of leading by influence and example
You must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa

Preferred

Professional experience with Golang is a plus
