Customer Service Representative/Inside Sales

Continental Western Corporation is seeking a highly organized Customer Service Representative (CSR) who can effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for managing daily office and operational functions while providing direct support to sales, including processing orders and supporting customer relationships.

Responsibilities

Manage incoming calls and respond to customer inquiries
Prepare, manage, and follow up on customer quotes; convert quotes to orders
Support inside sales and assigned account portfolios
Identify customer needs and support profitable sales opportunities
Support new account onboarding and first-order execution
Conduct product research to support customer inquiries and substitutions
Process purchasing activities and coordinate inventory replenishment
Receive and reconcile inbound goods; resolve discrepancies
Process invoicing and billing inquiries, corrections, and documentation
Manage returns, credits, exchanges, and inventory transfers
Support past-due follow-ups in coordination with credit and accounting
Maintain accurate records in CRM and ERP systems
Support pricing discussions in alignment with margin and discount guidelines
Resolve customer complaints and ensure timely follow-up
Proactively identify upsell, cross-sell, and repeat business opportunities
Follow company policies, procedures, and approval processes

Required

2+ years of customer service or inside sales experience
Strong computer skills; ability to learn ERP systems (Prophet 21 preferred)
Working knowledge of order processing, purchasing, billing, and inventory workflows
Strong phone communication and active listening skills
Comfortable discussing pricing, value, and basic margin concepts
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
Customer-focused with the ability to adapt to different customer types
High school diploma required
