Sr. Field Engineer / Lab Technician

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, remove and replace defective components and parts in system associated equipment assemblies, and subassemblies
Troubleshooting of electronic cabinet and server based equipment in test stations
General lab technician duties like cable builds, hardware management test equipment management, etc
Test support at all different levels (i.e., CCA boards, component level troubleshooting)
Perform other duties as assigned by the program
Organize and track lab hardware
Manage calibrated equipment in the lab and send for calibration as required
Domestic travel and or international travel to low, medium, and high-risk security level countries is required

Required

Strong electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills
Strong skills interpreting and following schematics
Candidate must be able to demonstrate skills utilizing different pieces of test equipment. Examples like Fiber Optic Test Tools (i.e. interferometer, meters, etc.), Digital Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Signal Generator, etc
Strong skills following established test procedures
Proficient using MS Office Software including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
Experience maintaining equipment calibrations and defining schedules to meet program commitments
Security Clearance: Secret
Domestic travel and or international travel to low, medium, and high-risk security level countries is required

Preferred

Experience with MK48 related sub-systems
Previous field engineering/ system support experience supporting a Department of Defense program
Ability to learn via on-the-job training
J-standard Soldering Qualification or Circuit Card Soldering experience
Fiber Optics repair/cleaning/polishing/termination
Strong written and verbal communications skills required
