Responsibilities
Product Engineer Body Interior Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineer The Body Interior PVT Engineer has several responsibilities associated with analyzing and improving the Quality
Review incoming warranty claims data on a daily basis, review customer and dealership comments, bin claims into proper binning categories, contact dealership/s for parts and repair diagnoses, participate in customer call back to ensure proper understanding of customer feedback
Review returned parts for root cause analyses and develop Interim Containment and Permanent Corrective Actions
Support assembly plant with Stop Ships/Stop Builds, Campaigns, Audits, Root Cause Analyses and other Quality related tasks
Lead engineering commodity changes for future minor product launches and lead cost reduction actions in current production vehicles. Support Variability Reduction Team (VRT) for specific sub-systems and work closely with
Supplier partners to address quality concerns. Lead engineering trials and the implementation of running changes for the sub-system
Issue engineering Alerts and initiate and/or pursue authorization of engineering Concerns for product changes to support Quality objectives
Engage technical experts and functional team members for driving resolution and in developing corrective actions to improve product Quality
Maintain sub-system or Vehicle Functional Group (VFG) level Quality documents (KPIs Top 20 concerns)
Make presentations to various levels of upper management (weekly VRT report out, Vehicle Quality Reviews
Engineering Managers reviews). Please note this position will have the individual working at the Systems level between Body Interior and any interfacing modules controlling Interior function
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
Experience working with both Body Interior and Electrical systems from a Systems Engineering standpoint
Understanding of Body Interior components such as Seats, Restraints, Door Trim, and IP & Cockpit
Ability to understand communication between the modules (e.g., CAN communication)
Troubleshooting skills as it applies to the specific functions that the modules or switches control and their impact to the rest of Body Interior
