Staff Accountant II
The Remedy Mental Health is a healthcare organization seeking a Staff Accountant II to support its financial operations. This role involves handling complex accounting tasks, preparing financial records, and assisting with month-end and year-end closings while ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.

Responsibilities
Prepare, record, and verify complex journal entries and reconciliations as part of monthly and year-end closings
Conduct detailed account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and propose solutions to ensure timely issue resolution
Manage and maintain the chart of accounts, supporting process improvements in the ledger
Safeguards assets through effective methods, policies and procedures, and established controls
Acquires and disseminates knowledge of the organization’s assets and debts
Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
Analyze financial results and variances, provide insights and commentary, and assist in preparing executive summaries
Collaborate with department heads for budgetary input and support the budgeting and forecasting processes
Assist in monitoring cash flow, receivables aging, and expense tracking to optimize financial management
Attends and participates in-service training and seminars and required
Ensure financial reporting deadlines are met and that all relationships with vendors and employees are maintained at an acceptable level
Maintains a respectful relationship with all stakeholders, including patients, referral sources, and community at large
Always maintains a positive working relationship with staff
Ensures compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including HIPPA and other privacy regulations
Assists the Controller as needed
Ensure all accounting activities comply with GAAP, healthcare regulations, and internal policies
Prepare documentation and provide support for external financial statement reviews
Implement internal controls and assist in evaluating accounting policies and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare or regulated industry, with a focus on general ledger management and financial reporting
Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and standard accounting practices
Must have some experience in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Oracle, SAP, or healthcare-specific ERP systems) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in all financial activities
High level of accuracy and diligence in all aspects of accounting and reporting
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
Preferred
Experience in healthcare, with familiarity with healthcare-specific financial regulations and compliance requirements
Advanced certifications or working towards certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, MBA) are a plus
