Required

Strong hands-on experience as an Azure SQL PaaS DBA
Expertise in Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance
Azure portal, Azure CLI, and PowerShell for database administration
Performance monitoring and tuning (Query Store, Azure Monitor, Insights)
Backup, restore, and point-in-time recovery in Azure SQL
High availability and disaster recovery (built-in HA, geo-replication, failover groups)
Strong knowledge of T-SQL
Experience with Azure security features: Azure AD authentication, Role-based access control (RBAC), Transparent Data Encryption (TDE)
Experience managing alerts, monitoring, and capacity planning
Understanding of Azure networking concepts (VNETs, private endpoints)

Preferred

Experience as a SQL Server DBA (on-prem or IaaS)
Knowledge of SQL Server installation, backup/recovery, and performance tuning
SQL Server 2014 and above
Exposure to Azure DevOps / CI-CD for database deployments
Experience with automation scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Databricks
