Responsibilities
Assist with maintaining on-site health and safety expectations
Serve in a field support role, working on interesting and technically challenging construction projects. Field activities may include construction observation, sampling of soil or groundwater, in-situ density testing, and observation of earthwork activities
Express a willingness to visit construction sites to assist in the field with our construction monitoring service group
Assist engineers and Project Managers with the planning and execution of site characterization, subsurface investigation, and construction of various infrastructure and real estate development projects
Communicate with the project team and prepare field reports
Review design drawings, specifications, and geotechnical/environmental reports
Assist with evaluation of subsurface geotechnical and environmental data
Assist with collection of instrumentation data
Qualification
Required
Candidate should be at least 2 years into their academic career
Candidate should be enrolled in a civil, geotechnical, or environmental engineering educational program (undergraduate or graduate)
Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn
Be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
Computer Skills – Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in all MS Office software
Ability to work for 3 or more consecutive months on a full-time basis
This position will require travel to job sites within the Greater Boston area and working outside of the office 90% of the time
The position will include field sampling, lifting and transporting up to 50lbs of field equipment unassisted, bending, walking on uneven ground, working on large construction/industrial sites, working in the elements (following our Health & Safety guidelines), and use of personal-protective equipment (PPE)
Schedule includes early mornings, depending on project requirements
