Responsibilities
Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Team Syncs, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives) with guidance, helping reinforce team agreements and continuous improvement actions
Track team progress in Azure DevOps (or similar tools), helping maintain visibility into sprint commitments, burndown charts, and basic metrics
Participate in Agile communities, including Communities of Practice and Scrum of Scrums, to learn from peers and gradually contribute insights
Build foundational understanding of the team’s systems and applications to support discussions around delivery context, risks, or constraints
Help the team maintain focus on sprint and product goals while learning to manage shifting priorities with support from senior Scrum Masters or your manager
Support team self-organization, encouraging accountability and learning how to facilitate estimation practices
Identify and escalate blockers, dependencies, and risks with coaching; begin communicating impacts to the right partners
Support change management by learning to articulate the 'why' behind Agile practices or process adjustments
Collaborate closely with team members—developers, testers, product owners—by asking clarifying questions and helping maintain alignment
Ask value-focused questions to understand how user stories connect to product and business goals
Qualification
Required
Foundational skills using Agile tools such as Azure DevOps, DevOps, or Jira
Experience working with or supporting IT teams, coursework included
Comfortable adapting to change, learning quickly, and supporting teams in dynamic environments
Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to promote Agile values with a positive, collaborative tone
Familiarity with Scrum, Agile, or SAFe concepts through coursework, training, or certification
SAFe Scrum Master certification—or willingness to obtain within 6 months
Hybrid role requiring 3 in-office days per week in Indianapolis, aligned to team needs. Typical hours: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m
Preferred
Experience using Azure DevOps for story tracking and metrics
Exposure to different types of applications (legacy systems, mobile apps, cloud solutions, web platforms)
A growth mindset focused on delivery, learning, and servant leadership
Basic understanding of estimation techniques, sprint planning, or capacity concepts (through coursework or training)
BA/BS degree in business, IT, or a related field
SAFe Scrum Master certification
