HR and Payroll Administrator

Confidential company is seeking an HR and Payroll Administrator to provide accurate and timely human resources and payroll administration. This role supports the full employee lifecycle, ensures payroll is processed correctly, maintains employee records, and assists with HR policies and compliance across multiple auto dealerships.

Responsibilities

Process payroll accurately and on time (semi-monthly)
Calculate salaries, hourly & overtime, flat rate, bonuses, commissions, spiffs and deductions. Along with other varied forms of pay
Administer payroll in an accurate and timely manner on a semi-monthly basis, ensuring all processes adhere to established protocols
Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements
Prepare, submit and post payroll to accounting
Manage payroll changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, and salary adjustments
Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to payroll-related queries
Liaise with payroll providers, tax authorities, and accounting teams as required
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR systems
Administer onboarding and offboarding processes (contracts, documentation, system access)
Prepare employment contracts, letters, and HR documentation
Track employee attendance, leave, sick days, and absences
Support performance review cycles and HR initiatives
Ensure HR data confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations
Administer employee benefits (health insurance, 401(k), etc.)
Making sure employees enroll or waiver the benefits offered to them within the time frame required
Act as a point of contact for employee benefit queries
Support compensation reviews and salary benchmarking when required
Ensure HR and payroll processes comply with labor laws and company policies
Support audits by preparing HR and payroll documentation
Assist in updating HR policies and procedures
Monitor changes in employment and payroll legislation
Serve as a first point of contact for HR and payroll-related inquiries
Provide guidance to employees on policies, procedures, and benefits
Support employee relations by escalating issues appropriately
Prepare HR and payroll reports for management
Analyze payroll and HR data to identify trends and discrepancies
Support budgeting and workforce planning activities

Required

Diploma or bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or experience in related field
Proven experience in HR administration and payroll processing
Strong knowledge of labor laws, payroll regulations, and statutory requirements
Experience with HRIS and payroll software
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time management skills
Confidentiality and integrity
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Problem-solving and analytical abilities
Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)

Preferred

HR or Payroll certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM, CPP, or local equivalent)
Experience in related industry
Experience in a fast-paced or growing organization
