Teach scholars the importance of hard work through joyful rigor – engaging, dynamic learning that is academically, intellectually and personally challenging
Implement the following BA non-negotiable instructional methods
Understand that classroom observational feedback/scores will emphasize the successful implementation of the above teaching methods
Foster a love of learning and celebrate scholar successes
Provide opportunities for scholars to learn experientially through direct guided experience using sensory awareness, active participation, and nature’s resources
Challenge scholars to reach their highest potential
Model and promote BA character traits to scholars and stress the importance of each scholar being a responsible, contributing citizen to society
Implement the technology and software programs provided by BA, operating and using technology for optimum results
Monitor and assess scholars’ daily work to reflect excellence in neatness, thoroughness and scholar mastery of instructional goals
Take ownership of tutorials and apply the same standards as above
Maintain a garden/planters box as an outdoor laboratory to help foster life skills, responsibility, problem solving, and critical thinking
Encourage class attendance with recognition, rewards, parent communication, and maintain 97% ADA
Implement classroom rules/procedures (including both positive reinforcement and consequences)
Follow school drills and sub protocol procedures in accordance with the Parent/Scholar Handbook and utilize the Handbook as a first point of reference
Maintain a neat, clean, orderly, and learning-centered environment that demonstrates BA standards of excellence
Perform a daily uniform check and understand scholars are expected to follow the BA appearance guidelines
Follow proper attendance-taking procedures and ensure timely reporting
Demonstrate professionalism by being in regular attendance and arriving on time to work, staff meetings, tutorials, cafeteria duty, parent nights (one per month) and other assigned duties
Complete required training on time
Work cooperatively to create an atmosphere of unity among the school community and refrain from gossip, negativity and unsupportive comments
Demonstrate professionalism at ALL times
Utilize professional communication with strong grammar, syntax, usage and/or spelling skills during phone conversations, personal conversations, emails, and social media
Exhibit professionalism in appearance and follow the BA standard of dress located in the Magic Makers Handbook under the Dress Code section
Regularly communicate to parents about scholar achievement levels, class behavior, assigned homework, academic needs, and any concerns
Check staff email a minimum of three times daily during normal working hours and check teacher in-box daily and commit to read updates, notes, and employee notices in a timely manner
Participate willingly in all dance/stomp productions throughout the academic school year
Additional duties may be assigned by the Principal

Required

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
Valid teaching certification in Spanish
Experience in teaching Spanish at K-12 levels
Strong communication skills
Ability to implement diverse instructional methods
Commitment to fostering a positive classroom environment
Ability to meet academic and attendance goals
Proficiency in using technology for educational purposes
Ability to maintain classroom inventory and report damages
Demonstrated professionalism and effective communication with parents and staff

Preferred

Experience with Title I schools
Familiarity with state testing requirements
Experience in curriculum development
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Experience with hands-on learning projects
