Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and monitor various CNC machines, managing multiple setups simultaneously to meet production goals
Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, GD&T, and tooling instructions to ensure accurate machining and inspect parts with precision tools for quality conformance
Edit, optimize, and occasionally create CNC programs to improve processes and part quality
Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, and process issues, providing solutions and feedback to programmers and engineers
Lead or assist in coordinating team activities, production scheduling, and resolving on-shift issues to maintain efficiency
Train and support team members in machine operation, inspection techniques, and adherence to process standards
Recommend and implement tooling, fixturing, and process improvements for workflow optimization
Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with safety and 6S standards; support 6S initiatives and participate in audits and continuous improvement efforts
Communicate effectively with setup technicians and other departments to ensure smooth production flow
Provide input on employee performance, training needs, and team morale to leadership
Assist engineering, quality, and other departments as needed to support overall production goals
Participate in shift meetings and present production data as required
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
7+ years of relevant experience, including CNC programming or previous programming experience
Complete knowledge of G and M codes
Understanding and knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Strong communication and organizational skills
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and perform frequent standing, walking, sitting, and hand/finger dexterity tasks
Ability to perform occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing stairs or ladders
