Diesel Truck Chassis Master Mechanic
BigFoot Staffing is excited to offer a Direct Hire Diesel Truck Chassis Master Mechanic position. This hands-on, senior-level role requires deep technical knowledge of heavy-duty diesel systems and involves mentoring junior technicians while ensuring repair quality. The position also includes diagnosing complex diesel engine issues and maintaining compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair advanced diesel engine issues, including electronic fuel systems, turbochargers, and emissions controls
Perform in-depth diagnostics and repairs on transmissions, differentials, drivelines, and other drivetrain systems
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, multiplexed networks, and wiring faults
Oversee and execute brake system repairs, including ABS, air disc brakes, and stability control systems
Rebuild or replace suspension, steering, and air ride systems
Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards
Lead the diagnostic process for complex or unusual issues
Support service advisors with technical estimates and timelines for large-scale jobs
Mentor junior technicians and apprentices, reviewing their work and guiding their development
Maintain manufacturer certifications and stay current with emerging diesel technologies
Communicate clearly with team members and management to ensure efficiency and accuracy
Qualification
Required
7–10+ years of professional experience as a heavy-duty diesel technician
ASE Master Certification (T-Series required)
In-depth knowledge of all major truck brands and platforms
Proficient with diagnostic software and scan tools (OEM and aftermarket)
Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical service bulletins
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Must own a full set of professional tools
Valid driver's license with clean record
Preferred
ASE Master Heavy Duty Truck Technician certification
CDL Class A or B license
Manufacturer-specific training (Cummins, Detroit, Paccar, etc.)
Experience with alternative fuel systems (CNG, hybrid, or electric vehicles)
Fabrication, welding, or metalwork capabilities
Previous experience as a shop foreman or lead tech
Technical school degree or equivalent training
