Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with state regulations and safety codes
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to determine the layout of electrical systems
Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of the system
Supervise and train apprentices and other less experienced staff
Ensure all installations and repairs are completed on time and within budget
Provide excellent customer service and address client inquiries and concerns
Participate in required safety program and work in a safe manner
Additional duties as assigned by manager

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid state electrician's license
Proven experience as an electrician
In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and equipment
Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and state electrical codes
Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
Ability to read blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics
Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
