Managing high-dollar outpatient service accounts
Ensuring accurate financial reimbursement and seamless authorization processes for complex procedures
Skilled in end-to-end referral processing, registration, precertification, point-of-service collections, and Epic financial workflows
Providing thorough financial counseling
Calculating patient responsibility
Securing required payer approvals through detailed clinical submissions and peer-to-peer coordination
Serving as a key representative for the Financial Division on cross-functional teams
Offering financial insight to support treatment and scheduling decisions
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 1 year of experience as a financial specialist/counselor or 3 years of related experience in a comparable role
Working knowledge of medical and insurance industry terminology is required
Proven ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities, and make timely, accurate judgment decisions
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with healthcare professionals
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Proficiency with computer applications and demonstrated ability to work across multiple systems
Exceptional verbal, analytical, and written communication skills
Must be adaptable, tactful, and able to work well under pressure
Ability to perform effectively under stress, including during critical or unusual situations
Must understand the importance of a 'first impression' role and maintain appropriate professional dress, attitude, and demeanor
